In this retreat we will create an illuminated manuscript miniature of The Visitation, using medieval techniques and modern materials.Come learn about the history of manuscript illumination in a relaxing and friendly environment. $150 per person $255 per couple (1 night lodging and 3 meals). Includes $20 materials fee per person.

Bio – Hannah Charlton
Hannah Charlton is an artist living in Washington State.  She interned at the Grunewald Guild in Leavenworth, Washington, and attended Whitworth University, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in 2014, studying art, graphic design, and history. She found the ideal intersection of the three areas of study in medieval manuscript illumination. “An illuminated manuscript is a handwritten, hand-decorated page or book. It is ‘illuminated’ in that the text is lit up with decoration.”
Hannah was the Creator-in-Residence at The Lab at the North Spokane Public Library in December of 2018.
