Silent Day of Prayer
The Prodigal Son Retold from a First Century Point of View
Msgr. Kevin Codd
This story of unfathomable mercy provides an opportunity for deep reflection from the perspective of a First Century Christian, as emphasized in this Day of Prayer.
Msgr. Kevin Codd was ordained to the priesthood Aug. 25, 1979. He first served as assistant pastor of St. Mary Parish, Spokane Valley. He has been pastor of the parishes in Brewster, Twisp, and Othello, as well as St. Patrick in Walla Walla and, most recently, St. Thomas More Catholic Student Center in Pullman. He spent a year in the diocese’s mission in Guatemala, and was the rector of the American College, a seminary in Louvain, Belgium. He was elevated to the rank of monsignor in 2007 and, in addition to his duties at St. Thomas, has served the diocese as Vocations Director. Msgr. Codd is currently the pastor at Sacred Heart Parish, Spokane.
The Silent Day of Prayer begins with the Rosary, and includes the Sacrament of Reconciliation, Mass, two conferences, lunch and concludes with Adoration.
